W8lifter.com not only offers personal
training, informative and accurate fitness advice, and program design, but
we also perform fitness consultations. A fitness consultation can be a
simple body composition measurement or it can be a complete assessment of
your VO2Max, Flexibility, and
Strength. Both are explained below.
COMPLETE FITNESS TESTING
When you decide to begin a fitness
program, it is important to assess where you are physically. ASCM
Guidelines for fitness testing state the following measurements should be
performed during a complete fitness test:
- Resting Heart Rate
- Resting Blood Pressure
- Body Fat
- Weight
- Cardiorespiratory Endurance
- Muscular Strength Fitness
- Muscular Endurance Fitness
- Flexibility
After your fitness test I will go over
your scores and show you where you stand on the national averages for your
age group, where you excel, and where you could use a little improvement.
How you fare on these tests will help you determine what the focus of your
fitness program should be. Each fitness test takes approximately an hour
and a half and costs $85.
BODY COMPOSITION ONLY

Body Composition Averages Table!
More often than not people use a
primitive method to determine if they are healthy or not. This primitive
method involves getting buck naked and stepping on to a cold metal
bathroom scale. Moments like this can make or break someone’s day
depending on how high or low the number is that appears on the scale. But
the bathroom scale is an inaccurate indicator of how healthy you are. The
bathroom scale includes fat weight, lean body mass weight, water weight
and bone weight. Since it does not differentiate between muscle and fat,
the number you see may be discouraging and sometimes down right
depressing. Especially when you figure in the fact that our bodies can
lose or gain 3 or more pounds of water weight daily.
At W8lifter.com we encourage all people,
dieters, body builders, and athletes, to get off of the scale and get
their body composition tested. W8lifter.com offers two types of body
composition testing.
Skinfold Caliper Testing --
In this
test, 3 sites on your body are pinched and measured by a skinfold
caliper. The measurements are then entered into an equation and your
total body fat is determined. It is considered the 2nd most accurate way
of testing body composition. The test requires the measure to access
unclothed body parts (Men: Chest, Abs and Thighs. Women: Triceps, Abs
and Thigh).
Measuring Tape Testing --
In this
test, the circumference of 3 sites on the body are measured with
measuring tape. The measurements are then entered into an equation and
your total body fat is determined. This measurement technique is less
invasive than the skin fold calipers. It is considered less accurate as
well but is recommended for those clients who are obese. Each test costs
$10 for the first measurement and $5 for each measurement afterwards.
Body composition testing is always free with the purchase of personal
training sessions and is part of the complete fitness test.
